About Spine Consultation
The initial consult will be focused on obtaining a history of your condition and understanding the type of pain you are experiencing. Therefore, it is necessary to obtain a detailed medical history, pain triggers, pain patterns and the results of any prior treatment. Next, a detailed examination is performed in order to determine if there are areas of numbness, weakness, tenderness or referred pain. This process helps to determine the possible source of your condition although additional tests may be needed in order to get more precise information. Therefore, your first appointment will take some time because it is important to get an accurate diagnosis. Once this is achieved, we can outline the possible treatment options with you and find out what works best given your unique circumstances and needs. Our goal is to help you get back to doing the things you want to do with the least pain possible.
Treatment Procedures.
We want to work with you to find the plan that best meets your needs. For some this may be a individualized physical therapy plan coupled with medications or other non-surgical treatments. We offer minimally invasive procedures such as injections. What ever the case, we will fully discuss the treatment until you understand what you can expect and what the potential risks and benefits are. If you do undergo a minimally invasive procedure, we often provide some sedation to help ease the process. We will also follow-up to determine if there are any post-procedural issues and to see how well your pain is alleviated. We ask that you follow the post-procedure directions so that you maximize the benefit from your treatment.
Invest in you.
Taking care of your health is important in order to enjoy life to the fullest. Putting off treatment of painful spine conditions may lead to poor sleep, anxiety, hypertension, stomach problems, and impaired immunity. Let us help you find your way back to wellness.
